The app introduces a pre symbolic, wordless intervention grounded in research on empathy and social connection. Mounting evidence suggests that mutual eye gazing can increase empathy by activating mirror neuron systems and stimulating oxytocin, supporting prosocial behavior.
The experience begins with a guided Self Gaze meditation, where users look into their own eyes to foster self acceptance and emotional grounding.
Once users have regained sight of themselves, they will be paired with another user for a mutual gazing session.

Users are paired with someone who differs in a simple identity marker such as favorite color, inspired by research on the Minimal Group Paradigm showing how easily group divisions form. By meeting face to face without words, participants engage in a shared human experience before labels, arguments, or ideology. The goal is to subtly shift the ambient tone of discourse by restoring a felt sense of connection.
